Prague

Something cool about living in this side of the Baltic Sea? It's real easy and quick to travel around middle Europa. Shame that I enjoy way too much spending time in my present town so I'm too lazy to travel more, but at least I managed to travel to Prague for a weekend with a friend! It was totally remarkable trip. To start with, it had been snowing for the whole night and trains were late. My friend lives in Leipzig and that's where the first train left. Since I came from Halle I almost missed the train because everything was so late because of the snow. Anyway we managed to get to Dresden, where our train to Prague was supposed to drive. Of course everything was again hour or so late. Finally we got to the right train, but for some reason it just didn't leave. We waited a good while, and finally it slowly started going. After some time it stopped and this time for good. After some more waiting someone came to tell us that they splitted the train in Dresden. So to speak, our train was already halfway to Prague and our train had gone to reverse track. So they told us to jump off the train (there was no platform any more because we were pretty far from station) and just walk along the tracks in the direction railway station.
All in all, we got to Czech and everything went pretty nicely forward. It was snowing for the whole time so can't say visiting view point was the best idea but at least old town and Kafka museum were worth seeing.

the tourist

What's the best thing about your parents visiting you in new city and country? You're finally allowed to be total tourist and visit all the places you wouldn't visit with your roommates. I must say I was really surprised by the scale of different museums. We did visit everything from ancient history to chocolate museum and surprisingly Beatles museum (??!) there between. All were well made, even the though you would think the last one can't be any good, believe it or not it was. Anyway I learned much new of my current city, for example that there is the biggest glockenspiel in the Europe, third biggest in the whole world! So pretty hugh instrument in big tower. Was really cool, and if I get bored with organ I'm gonna start studing that area next. I would add here a pic of that beuty, but sadly my it skills don't let me add a photo of an e-mail my dad send, so you gotta settle in a (also pretty tourist) picture of Wittenberg's reformation day festival.

yes mam

When I got here I decided that to experience as much as possible and to take all out of exchange I gotta always say yes and go when someone asks me somewhere and I have time. Of course by now I sometimes have to say no if I want to get any time for practising and sleeping, but here is some unexpected consequences i didn't expect to happen: very first thing I got asked to come with when I arrived Saturday evening was participate service Sunday morning. So I went and by now haven't missed one Sunday, really wouldn't have expected that I would turn out to be someone going to church every Sunday. Anyway it leaded to finding myself last Sunday singing in catholic messe in double quartet. Surely I can say I've soon tried it all. Something more back to earth: today I was as practising patient at my friend who studies to be a dentist. It's really interesting when you never know what's going to happen tomorrow. At least my teeth are now properly cleaned.

Alle Gute Gabeln

One of the very best things here is this place i'm living and specially the people here. There is two buildings and i'm living in the one with less residents. There is eleven of us, which means you can always find someone to eat and talk or go out with, but also hugh mess in the kitchen! Anyway it's great that we cook and eat so often together so i wanted to post here a pic of one of those meals. Possibly not the best quality i guess Karl in the corner was the only one standing still enough not to look
all blurry.

the trumpet

I had my very first trumpet lesson this week and now i'm just so excited to start practising a new instrument! My goal for the first lesson was to get some sound out of this instrument, but after lesson i was even able to play five different tones! yey! Anyway wanted to be a good student and do my homework but aparently instrumentcase is locked and i don't have any key. Hmph. Dry run it is.
